About JIST
Juneau, Alaska
Co-Founder of JIST, Bill Kozlowski

Our mission is to promote the independence and well-being of persons with disabilities in their communities. By utilizing modern technology we aim to provide a tool that will facilitate better communication between persons with disabilities and those around them.

Founded in 2002 by Bill Kozlowski and Bret Connell, Bill recognized that people with disabilities are capable of being their own advocates, but sometimes lack the tools that enable them to do so.

Bill had an idea for a revolutionary new product, but he lacked the skills to produce it. He went back to school to learn computers and video editing with assistance of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation by participating in one of their back to work programs for people with disabilities.

An alliance was then formed between Bill and DVR, and through this alliance, the Digital Job Coach was born and has been continually developed and improved upon with many positive results for people with disabilities.

Bret Connell, Bill's friend from High School, left his position as a Component Design Engineer for Intel Corporation and joined Bill in developing and producing these exciting new products.
